By the Rev. Dr. Curtis I. Crenshaw, Th. D.
I read this morning about the Supreme Court’s upcoming cases on abortion and how they are being forced into a box about ruling in favor of pro-life positions. I wish it were true, but we’re engaged in spiritual warfare, and the left is committed in principle in to death. All those who hate the Triune God love death (Proverbs 8:36). The latest Supreme Court (In)Justice, Sonia Sotomayor, has made it known that she is absolutely committed to the death of babies, and the Chief (In)Justice, John Roberts, is a compromiser, as we saw in Obamacare. They are NOT objective and could care less about true justice. They are committed to hating the Triune God, to death, and to reinterpreting the Constitution to read how the Left wants it to read. They will find a way to make abortion continue.
I agree that we need to do all we can to overturn Roe v. Wade, BUT we need to understand that the Church is the solution to wickedness in our society and that at the grass roots level. We need to continue to establish pro-life clinics, continue to promote pro-life in our churches, continue to educate the public, and continue to be there for the girls to offer all these things free. After all, (Un)Planned Parenthood performs their death “services” for money. We offer our life services free. This is the way we will win.
World Magazine researched and reported in January 2009 that in 1860, just before the start of the Civil Way, abortion was more prolific per capita than now. At that time, there were 160,000 abortions with a population of 30 million, and today there are about 1.2 million abortions with 307 million people, 0.005% (before moving the decimal) compared to 0.004%. The abortion rate fell 50% from 1860 to 1910. How did they do it? By making it illegal from state to state, by educating people to the truth, by providing free services as opposed to doctors who were trafficking in murder, and especially with churches raising the public conscience by preaching the Gospel. Moreover, we need to fight porn, which lowers the value of women and of babies, making women’s lovers want to eliminate the produce of their “fun” and making men not want to own up to their responsibility to be fathers and husbands.
We Christians will win, make no mistake about that, but will you, dear readers, own up to your responsibility to be part of the solution. The Law of the by-stander makes us all accountable:
11 Deliver those who are drawn toward death, And hold back those stumbling to the slaughter. 12 If you say, “Surely we did not know this,” Does not He who weighs the hearts consider it? He who keeps your soul, does He not know it? And will He not render to each man according to his deeds? (Proverbs 24:11-12)
